This
château already existed in 1228. Luce de Bort rebuilt it at
the end of the 15th century and gave it its current look.
For several centuries, this
château was an annex of the Ydes commander’s residence
which belonged to the order of Saint Jean of Jerusalem.
Longevergne, which belonged to the Monclar family for over three
centuries, was bought in 1824 by Father Lavergne, priest of
Maintenon. The descendants of one of Father Lavergne’s
nephews reside in the château to this day. Completely
restored in 1905 in the style of the time, the château has
preserved its interior design with wallpaper and woodwork
characteristic of the end of the 19th century.
You will enjoy one or several weeks in a romantic and familial
atmosphere in the heart of one of the most beautiful Cantal valleys.
Geraldine and Michel
Greget, present owners, will be glad to welcome you and help you to
spend one or more weeks in this romantic place.
